A quorum was achieved. 1. Preliminary Events Participants identified themselves and their affiliations. Non-members were invited to join WG-01 and/or the DICOM Standards Committee. Several such memberships were approved by the DICOM Standards Committee at its meeting in Kyoto last April. The agenda, as distributed, was approved with the addition of a discussion on Supplement 129 (Electrophysiology Structured Reports and Procedure Log Templates). Minutes of the WG-01 meeting of March 27, 2009 in Orlando were approved as presented. 2. Change Proposals of Interest to Members of WG-01 WG-01 Chair Harry Solomon presented three change proposals that he thought might be of interest to members of WG-01. These were: CP729 – Change SCP-ECG Nomenclature to ISO/IEEE 11073 or SNOMED CP890 – Cardiac Trigger before R Peak CP1028 – Add Body Surface Area Equation for Asians All were invited to carefully review these proposals and prepare any comments they might consider appropriate for review by WG-06 at its next meeting (January 2010). 3. Supplement 129 (Electrophysiology Structured Reports and Procedure Log Templates) Mr. Solomon drew members’ attention to the lack of progress on this draft supplement and asked if anyone would consider serving as champion to move it forward. There were no volunteers. The lack of such a volunteer is a clear indication of the topic’s current importance to members of the group. One may anticipate that when that situation changes, a champion will step forward. 4. Report on IHE Cardiology Tom Dolan gave a short PowerPoint presentation on recent developments within IHE’s Cardiology community. A copy of that presentation may be found in the Minutes folder for this meeting at: http://DICOM.nema.org/Dicom/minutes/WG-01/2009/ and ftp:/medical.nema.org/MEDICAL/Dicom/Minutes/WG-01/2009/2009-11-04_Tcon 5. Draft Supplement XXX: Intravascular Optical Coherence Tomography (IVOCT) Image Information Object Definition (IOD) Tom Probasco and Gary Tearney presented version six of this draft supplement for review and comment by members of WG-01. In the course of this review, members confirmed the: Intention of supporting only grayscale images and adding tinting if desired Decision to use 16 bit vs. 32 bit images, but using a log scale with 16 bit depth to allow a wider dynamic range in FOR PROCESSING images. Plan to seek guidance from WG-06 on possible use of 32-bit floating point values in the FOR PROCESSING images, and clarification of meaning of “P-value” for log scale 16 bit values Numerous additional changes in text were captured by the editor. Additional changes, e.g., to identify existing SNOMED codes, will be made after the meeting. Motion to forward Supplement to WG-06 for consideration at its January 2010 meeting made by Dr. Tearney. Approved unanimously. The revised document will be posted to the WG-01 and WG-06 private FTP site for the January 2010 meeting at MITA Headquarters. 6. Quantitative Arterial and Ventricular Analysis SR Extension {WI 2009-04-A} Not discussed at this time due to the absence of the champion. 7. Time and Place for Next Meeting No specific dates were set for future meetings and teleconferences. The next event is the anticipated presentation of the IVOCT draft supplement to WG-06 in January 2010. Teleconferences and meetings will be scheduled as needed to advance the work in progress. Members expect to hold a face-to-face meeting at the ACC conference, probably on the afternoon of March 13, 2010. 8. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 12:50 p.m. Reported by: Howard Clark, Secretary November 6, 2009 Reviewed by Counsel: November 20, 2009
