Nurse Role
Review these instructions with nurses participating in simulation prior to BOTH
the first and second simulation:
During this simulated neonatal resuscitation you will assist in the resuscitation of a
depressed infant. In this exercise we will be testing the physician’s leadership abilities
and skills at directing the code and correcting incorrect chest compressions techniques.
During the simulation you will provide chest compression in a Slow (< 90
compressions/min) and Shallow (less than ¼ of AP diameter of chest) manner using a
2-finger technique.
Do not change how you give compressions unless challenged or redirected by the
physician.
