qCPR COACH Fast Facts: AIM 2 GET 100
ROLE: Coaches chest compressors to ensure high quality
CPR
Goals of high quality CPR:














Initiate chest compressions within 10 seconds
Compression ratio 30:2 for adults/children>8
Compression ratio 15:2 for infants/children<8
Stepstool
Backboard
Height of bed
End tidal
Continuous compressions with advanced airway (breaths
q6 seconds)
Zoll pads placed within 60 seconds (manual mode)
followed immediately by rhythm/algorithm statement.
Verbalize to team leader: “Is this rhythm
shockable?”and shock immediately (within 120 seconds)
First dose of EPI within 5 minutes!
Every 2 minutes switch chest compressors and &
verbalize rhythm using see thru CPR- shock if indicated.
Give EPI every 4 minutes (with compressor switches)
End tidal goal CO2 = >20
Rate of compressions = 100-120 bpm
Depth = 1.5-2 inches (infants) At least 2
inches(adults/children)
Shock = 2-4-4 joules/kg with a max of 10 joules/kg (q2
minutes with compressor changes)
Stopping compressions stops the pump! ETCO2 and
rhythm analysis instead of pulse checks!!
