City College Evacuation Drill
Important Information! Please Read!
This is notification that a mandatory evacuation drill will take place at the Ocean Campus
during the week of March 24th – 28th. All campus community members and visitors will
be asked to comply with evacuation procedures.
Limited building monitors and public safety staff will be on hand to facilitate the process.
Administrators, classified staff, faculty and building managers shall follow established
protocol and evacuate to safe locations outside of any building, suggested evacuation
locations can be found on the police website (www.ccsf.edu/police).
Please Follow the below listed Emergency Evacuation Procedures once the alarm sounds
in your building:
1)
Stay calm.
2)
Evacuate the building immediately in an orderly fashion. During a drill, students
shall take their personal belongings.
3)
Evacuate the building by using the closest and safest exit route. Take the stairs,
do not use the elevators.
4)
Instruct a student volunteer to guide the class out of the building to a safe
location.
5)
Enlist student volunteer(s) to escort individuals with disabilities who request
assistance to the Area of Evacuation Assistance or nearest stairwell. For purpose
of the drill disabled persons should remain until the drill is completed. In an
actual emergency monitors or emergency officials should be informed where
disability assistance is needed.
6)
Faculty should be the last to leave the classroom. Make sure no one is left in the
classroom, turn off lights, and close doors.
7)
Follow class to safety area. Report any injured individuals to building monitors
or emergency officials. (contact CCSF Police at 239-3200)
8)
The all clear sign to return to your classes/office shall be when the alarm has
been reset/silenced (turned off) in your building. Once this occurs you do not
have to wait for any further instructions.
Note: During a real evacuation wait for further instructions from campus official. Return
to the building only after building monitors or emergency officials give the all-clear
signal. This may be in person or by external speaker system.
