CALL TO ARTISTS Around Hillsboro TO ARTISTS Summer Open Show at Sequoia Gallery As fellow lovers of Hillsboro and our beautiful area, you are invited to participate in the August, 2014 Sequoia Gallery celebration of local scenes and memories. Guidelines and Entry Open to all artists. The theme is scenes and memories of Hillsboro and around the local area. Artwork will be accepted in 2- and 3-dimensional mediums. No wet paintings. Art must be wired with D-rings, and where appropriate, must be framed. Secure hanging wire is essential. Maximum size is 18x24, one entry per person. Free-standing 3-dimensional works can be no more than 12” across the base and 24” tall, weighing less than 30 pounds, to fit the display pedestals. Submit a signed application form along with the entry fee of $25 when artwork is delivered. Submit work with label information (title of work, artist name, price, medium and phone number) affixed to both front and back of artwork. This is a non-juried, fundraising open show. The funds raised help Sequoia bring you art programming throughout the year. All artwork will be for sale. Each artist will set the price for their own artwork. Commission for sold work will be 25%. After delivery, all updates and communication will be via e-mail. Submit work that has not been previously shown at Sequoia, created within the past year. Size_______________ Price ________________ Medium ____________________________ Hillsboro Visual Art Association DBA Sequoia Gallery and Studios AGREEMENT FOR CONSIGNMENT OF WORKS OF FINE ART PURSUANT TO ORS 359.200 ET SEQ (Oregon Art Consignment Act) This Consignment Agreement sets forth the rights and obligations between the Hillsboro Visual Art Association (hereinafter “Gallery”) and the undersigned (hereinafter “Artist” ). 1. Delivery of Inventory for Exhibit or Sale. Artist agrees to deliver to Gallery all works of art, in a suitable condition for exhibition or sale, as set forth in the Guidelines described in this document, and as described and listed by the Artists in the Artist Inventory Sheet, which is incorporated by reference into this agreement. Delivery of works of art as listed in the Artist Inventory Sheet shall be made by the Artist, or on behalf of the Artist, on or prior to the delivery date as designated by the Gallery. 2. Display, Sale Price, Commission, and Fees. Artist agrees that the work(s) of art shall be displayed at the Gallery. Artist has the discretion to display work NFS. By signing this form and delivering work for exhibit, artist gives permission to use their work in advertising/publications. Artist agrees that each piece described on the Artist Inventory Sheet, as prepared by Artist, may not be sold for less than the selling price shown. Artist agrees that gallery will retain 25% commission of the selling price of each work from the proceeds of sale as gallery’s agreed on commission for the acceptance, display and sale of each work. Gallery is authorized to display the work of art during the designated dates of this show. In the event the work is not sold, Artist agrees to reclaim and remove the work from the Gallery within 5 days after the show closes. In the event the work is sold, Galllery agrees to pay Artist's share of the proceeds to the Artist, minus commission, approximately 30 days after the close of the show. Gallery agrees, on demand by artist, to provide the name and address of the purchaser of the work and the date of purchase for any work sold for $100 or more, as recorded on the sales receipt at time of purchase. 3. Liability. Gallery shall provide careful consideration and handling of each work of art in Gallery’s possession. The Artist agrees that works of art are not in Gallery’s possession when being delivered to or removed from the Gallery by the Artist. It is generally understood that even in the best of situations some minor damage may occur. The Artist is encouraged to insure his/her works of art which are in Gallery’s possession because the Gallery does not guarantee the works of art against any or all loss, destruction, or damage. The undersigned Artist hereby accepts and agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Consignment Agreement.
