1. Senior Director/director of Medicinal Chemistry
Job description:
The Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry will manage medicinal chemistry projects
conducted at Shanghai Medicilon. The Senior Director will work with US/Europe clients to plan
projects and be responsible for day-to-day management and execution of the projects in
Shanghai laboratories.
Qualification Desired:
PhD with strong training in synthetic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, plus multiple year’s
medicinal chemistry experience at a pharmaceutical or biotech company. This experience must
include demonstrated contributions to drug discovery projects, and responsibility at the project
leader or director level. Important experience in addition to medicinal chemistry will include
interaction with biologists, hiring and motivating people, and management of contract research
projects. Outstanding accomplishments in medicinal chemistry with GPCR, kinase, protease or
ion channel targets are desired. Fluency in English and Chinese is required.
2. Senior Director/director of Structure Biology
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Write standard operation procedures, reports and reviews. Present seminars and interact with
clients regarding work performed. Prepare abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for scientific
meetings and publication.
Required Skills:
Ph.D. with at least 5 yrs research experience in Crystallography. Proficient in protein
crystallography, crystallization experiments, protein expression and purification, excellent
interpersonal and managerial skills, team player with excellent written and verbal
communication skills and proficiency in structure biology related software. Fluency in English
and Chinese is required.
