Technologist (12-Month Contract) South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative (SATVI) Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine (IIDMM) Faculty of Health Sciences The South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative (SATVI), located within the Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine (IIDMM), UCT, is involved in novel TB vaccine research. We are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates with an interest in health and research for immediate appointment to a 12-month, full-time post. We are looking for a Technologist to join our dynamic research team. Flexibility with regard to standby may be required, depending on the project needs. As a Technologist you will be involved in various research activities related to Tuberculosis in adults and children. You will be working directly under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, Lab Project Manager and/or Academic Team Leader, and will be required to perform laboratory procedures in support of the scientific goals of the clinical Research. Essential requirements include: Fluency in English, as well as either Afrikaans or IsiXhosa (or both) Qualification as a B Tech or BSc Hons 5 years’ working experience in health or research sector A valid driver’s license The annual remuneration is in the range R126 488 - R200 452, depending on skills and experience.
