I hereby certify that the particulars given by me on this entry form are correct to the best of my
knowledge and belief. I agree to the sale of my animal subject to the Conditions of Entry in the
schedule, to the Auction rules and to the Conditions of Sale and Sale Regulations of the Irish
Limousin Cattle Society Ltd. I agree to furnish the Irish Limousin Cattle Society Ltd with a Johnes,
BVD Virus Negative and Herd Health Membership Declaration at the sale.

The use of narcotics, pain suppressants and sedatives on animals selling in official Limousin society
sales is absolutely forbidden – checks for same . Having signed this form as above, it is assumed
you will permit random testing of your animal as the Chief Steward directs.

* A € 40 refund applies provided the entered animal turns up for the sales or is withdrawn within three weeks of the sale date.
Pedigree Certificate along with BVD, Johnes and Herd Health Certificates must
be handed to the steward at the sale by the exhibitor.

Regulations for Entry to Society Sales
1. Males must be between 12-24 months of age
2. Females must be over 12 months of age (unless a special Heifer Calf
category is included in the sale)
3. Males must be a minimum weight of 530 kgs at sale inspection time for
all society sales.
4. Animals must be in the herd of vendor for a minimum of 6 months prior
to the sale.
5. Johnes regulations apply for all sales as follows:
Dam of sale animal must test negative for Johnes within 12 months
of the sale. Exceptions as follows:
a. If dam is unavailable for testing – then the full pedigree Limousin
herd over 2 years of age must test negative for Johnes within 12
months of the sale date
b. In the case of Embryo animals for sale – it is the recipient dam
which must test negative for Johnes within 12 months of the sale
c. Females entered for sale, which are over 2 years of age at the
sale date, must themselves be tested for Johnes.
6. All animals entered for sale must have tested negative for the BVD
Virus once within their lifetime.
7. All matters pertaining to Pedigree Certification must be complete at time
of entry.
8. Use of narcotics or pain suppressants is strictly forbidden at society
sales
9. Iron halters are forbidden at society sales
10.White coats must be worn during the show
11.Random checks for sedatives, growth promoters and DNA will be
carried out at the sale
Additional Regulations for Entry to Premier Sales
1. All animals must be linear scored and weight recorded (within the
correct time frame)
2. All animals must be export tested
3. Minimal weight for age applies for Males in Premier sales – details are
available from the Limousin website. www.irishlimousin.com
4. Animals entered must satisfy the 1.7kg Rule, have an ADG of less than
1.7kgs/day (1.5 kg for females) from birth to linear scoring & weighing
subject to verification (allowing 45kgs birthweight).
5. Animals must enter the Sale Centre the evening/night before the sale.
