PRESS RELEASE 12 December 2005 Cathedral Choir ‘best yet’ CD released Truro Cathedral Choir has won many plaudits for its singing in the past but its latest CD release, Peace on Earth, is set to be a best seller. A spectacular new album of choral music has just been released by the renowned choir of Truro Cathedral - the fourth volume of its kind over the last three years. This new release, entitled Peace on Earth on the Lammas label, is an attractive selection of both sacred and secular music by the famous sixteenth century English composer, Orlando Gibbons. Robert Sharpe, Musical Director, is delighted with the younger members of the choir, “A feature of the recording is the variety of solo voices on show, including a number by the boys of the cathedral choir. Their superb singing helps make this the best CD recording yet from the choir.” Also featured on the CD are four delightful organ solo pieces played by Robert Sharpe on the beautiful chamber organ in the cathedral. The album would make an attractive Christmas present and is available in the cathedral shop as well as in all good record shops. The Cathedral Choir is performing with the Three Spires Singers on Saturday 17th December at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the Hall for Cornwall.
