Report Format:
1.
PowerPoint Option: Must be a current student of Mr. Brown and have
access to a computer. If you select this option, you are responsible for handing in a
floppy disc of your presentation.
2.
Essay Option: Typed, handwritten in ink (legible), or word processor. If
you use word processing, you must have a "working" printer! No excuses accepted.
a.
Double lined spacing.
b.
1.5" margins (left/right)
c.
Title page with a report heading, your name, period
number, and date. You may draw or insert a picture of
your animal on the title page.
d.
Include a Bibliography of web sites or library materials on
the last page.
3.
In the report, include the following:
a.
Name of your endangered animal (the common name and
the taxonomic name.
b.
Description of the animal using taxonomic information.
c.
Why is the animal on the threatened or endangered list?
d.
Taxonomic Remarks (special markings or behaviors). I.e.
Refer to CA Dept. Fish and Game web site.

Distribution of the animal (where it lives).
f.
Habitat (desert, coast, mountains).
g.
Status on the endangered species list.
h.
Management recommendations (how to save the animal).

Picture of your animal, geographic setting, and its habitat.
We will visit the library and the computer room for research. Your behavior in these
settings determines whether research is conducted at school or on your own time. Mr.
Brown will guide and assist you with the PowerPoint presentation. The report will be
worth 100 points on the 4th quarter reporting period.
