Early exposure to the outside world even before the Spanish colonial period, has contributed to the rich culture of the Kapampangan people. 8:00 am - Arrive City of San Fernando Proceed to San Fernando Town Proper to visit San Fernando Cathedral Built by the end of the 18th century, this church measures 70m long, 13 m wide and 11 m high. The interior belongs to the Tuscan order. The parish was placed under the advocation of Our lady of the Assumption. Calesa Ride, tour around town proper. 9:30 - Depart San Fernando going Angeles, visit Holy Rosary Church Holy Rosary Church is the mother of the mother parish of all Angeles parishes, is located at the intersection of Sto. Rosario and Sto. Entierro streets. The church was constructed from 1877 to 1896 by the townspeople of Angeles, including the small farmers and tenants without whose patient labors the edifice would not have become a reality. From 1899 to 1900 the US Army used the church as a military hospital. 10:30 - Depart Angeles going Guagua via Porac passing thru the Lahar area (Mega Dike). 11:30 - Arrive Betis, Guagua. Visit Betis Church. It is one of the oldest churches in Pampanga built in 1754. its ceiling and walls are filled with paintings and sculptures. The whole structure centers on the classic altar surrounded by religious frescoes. 12:00nn - Depart Betis Church LUNCH at Luring’s Restaurant, Guagua 1:30pm - Depart Guagua stop over wood carving shops. Proceed to Bacolor Church and Museum San Guillermo Church was built in 1576 in Bacolor, Pampanga the former capital of Philippines. It has fascinating work of architecture with religious altar with antique design and décor with religious frescoes of neoclassical work of European Art. 2:15 - Depart Bacolor, proceed to Minalin Church. Minalin Church has a transept and some very beautiful retablos. The retablos like façade of the church is a striking architectural feature. The lavish floral decorations of the main entrance and the windows above it draw one’s attention. 3:00 - Depart Minalin stop over Sto. Tomas pottery shops. 3:30 - Proceed to Apalit - St. Peter’s Shrine in Capalangan, Apalit is the current home of Apung Iru, a life-sized ivory statue of St. Peter brought into this country from Spain. - Apalit Parochial Church built between 1629-30, is located at the town plaza.
