Dear Scholars:
I want to help you avoid any fines associated with failing to properly check out of your room and/or
leaving it in poor condition. Thus, if you live in College housing, read this email carefully.
Please be especially mindful of the following three things as you start planning your departure from
The Hill.

There are two firm, and highly specific, rules about when you must leave campus
o Graduating Seniors must depart by 7:00pm on Sunday, May 10th
o All other students must depart within 24 hours of completing their last final exam

All students are expected to leave their room in the same, or better, condition as it was when
they initially moved in

If you have not damaged your room, or any its furnishings, you can easily avoid fines by
following the steps in the Year End Move-out Checklist below

 Review our check-in/check-out policies
 Remove all personal items
 Place trash in the trash can
 Donate items to the Throw Out Blow Out
 Sweep your room
 Close & lock your windows
 Draw your blinds
 Conduct an in-person room check-out with your RA
 Return your room key to Buildings and Grounds
o It is important that you only return your key directly to the Stock Room at Buildings
and Grounds (see the attached schedule for extended, year-end hours). Neither your
RA, nor another student can do this for you.
Finally, I encourage you to speak with your RA now if you have any questions or concerns about
checking out of your room.
