GENERAL FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS FOR EXTENDED ABSTRACTS

Please follow the present instructions carefully.
Each extended abstract is limited to one page maximum (paper size is A4; margin sizes
as in the present file) including figures, tables and references (figures and tables inserted into
the text).
Paper size: A4 portrait (297x210 mm), margin sizes 25 mm top and bottom, 25 mm left and
right. Font along the text: Times New Roman 12 point. Text: single-spaced, left and right
justified.
The first paragraph of each section is without a line indent. Subsequent paragraphs have a
first line indent of 5 mm.
Other formatting requirements are as for the paper.

EXTENDED ABSTRACT CONTENT

In general, the initial abstracts submitted to the organisers some months ago will not be
suitable as extended abstracts. The objective of an initial abstract is to persuade the organisers
to accept the paper, whereas the objective of an extended abstract is to interest the reader to
either attend the lecture or to read the full version of the paper.
The extended abstract must include a clear definition of the objective and approach of the
work discussed, pointing out material that is new, and presenting sufficient details regarding
results and conclusions of the paper.

Submit your camera ready extended abstract in PDF format, limited to one page maximum
(paper size is A4; margin sizes as in the present file) by e-mail : andrea.carpinteri@unipr.it
Please remember that such a PDF file must be sent by e-mail within 15th March, 2015.
Further, note that the total size of your files (Extended Abstract(s) in PDF + Paper(s) in PDF
and WORD) has to be lower than 5 Mb. If the total size of such files is greater than 5 Mb,
please send each file with a separate message. If the size of one of such files is greater than 5
Mb, please put all files in a CD and send it to Professor Andrea Carpinteri by mail (University
