Viking Visitor to Year 5
This half-term, Year 5 have been learning about ‘Invaders and Settlers’. As part of this topic, we
have been fortunate enough to arrange for a Viking visitor, who has appeared in the BBC’s
Horrible Histories programme, to come into school for the day on Wednesday 14th October.
This is an exciting event that we are very much looking forward to. The day will consist of
several workshops throughout the morning, with a battle re-enactment in the afternoon.
To make the day even more authentic, we would like the children to come to school dressed up in
Viking outfits and we have attached some ideas for dressing up. We will also be asking children
to make a shield at home, as part of their homework. They will need this in battle!
In order to offer this exciting opportunity we ask for a small contribution of £5.00, without which
this event would not be able to take place. This donation should be made as soon as possible.
