This first page is used to place the Assignment Number and Title of your Assessment. You should write the assignment question out in full as given by the lecturer. If there is a choice of questions, then you must identify clearly which question you are doing. Unit Title Student Name and Number Assignment Writing Template This Word file has been created in response to requests from students. The use of this file is optional and students have the responsibility to check that their written assignments comply with all academic conventions. The page layout and styles are structured to write your assignment according to the conventions in the School of Education’s APA (American Psychological Association) Referencing Style (Hoffman, 2005). However, there are limitations to what this Word file can provide. This template is a read only file. This means that when you write your assignment and save, the file will request you to do a ‘Save As’ and create a new Word file. Make sure you note where you save the file for future reference. The styles highlighted below have been ‘built in’ under the ‘Styles’ field. Students should make themselves acquainted with using ‘Styles’ in Microsoft Word. Again, it is the student’s responsibility to ensure the most appropriate style is used in assignments. If necessary, discuss beforehand with the Unit Lecturer or Tutor about the requirements for setting out specific assignments.
