Vendors price. One 6 foot table to display and/or sell products $75.00

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college
students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations,
including health occupations. It was formerly known as VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs
of America).
CHAMPIONS AT WORK
Dream Wedding Cake Novice/Professional Competition
This competition is open to novice and professional cake decorators in the area.
Novice decorator is one whose business is done part-time from their home and have
not won any decorating competitions.
Professional decorator is one whose job is making and decorating cakes for bakeries
or private business, or have competed in professional competitions.
Cake must be 3-5 tiers high. Bottom layer must be no smaller than 14”. Styrofoam
dummies covered in fondant and decorated using any edible techniques, such as
fondant, buttercream, pastillage, gumpaste, sugar… Columns, separators and
wedding cake accessories can be used.
No silk or real flowers to be used on cake but can be used to decorate table.
Cake will be placed on a covered table. You are allowed to decorate around table
area to match cake.
No names of decorators or business can be used on cake or area. Each cake will be
registered and given a number for judging.
Cakes will be judged on professionalism, cleanliness, design and techniques used.
This is a great chance to showcase your business and talents in the competitive cake
decorating field.
Vendors not displaying cakes are allowed to come in at 8am to set up display area.
Decorators can come at 8:30am to put up cake displays. Registration fee allows
decorator entrance to cake show and demonstrations.
Guests coming to view cakes on Saturday, April 5th must pay a $10 entrance fee.

TOBA M. GARRETT
Toba Garrett is one of the country’s foremost artists and
educators in the field of cake decorating and design. For 30
years, she has studied and mastered this intricate art. She
has won more than a dozen international gold and silver
medals as well as countless diplomas and felicitations,
including the trophy of Les Commandarie des Cordons
Bleus de France, the gold medal from Societè des Chefs,
Cuisiniers et Pattissiers de la Province de Quebec and the
14-karat-gold medal-of-honor from Le Societè Culinaire Philanthropique de
New York – grand prize for pastry.
She is Master Chef-Instructor, Cake Decorating and Design at the Institute
of Culinary Education in New York City. She started this department more
than 14 years ago, and now her classes are sold out months in advanced.
Her classes are the most comprehensive and most diverse in the entire
country.
She has been featured on “The Today Show”, “Emeril Live”, “Home
Matters”, “B-Smith With Style”, “Our Home”, and dozens of radio
programs. Her work has appeared in almost every major magazine in the
country including, Brides, In-Style, Modern Bride, Gourmet, Woman’s Day,
Chocolatier, Pastry Art and Design, Showcase, Sugarcraft, American Cake
Decorating and many more.
She is the author of Professional Cake Decorating, the first professional
cake decorating text book designed at teaching all aspect of cake art, The
Well-Decorated Cake and Creative Cookies – Delicious Decorating for any
Occasion.
Sunday, April 6, 2007 Toba Garrett will be teaching an Australian
Stringwork class.
Class cost is $125 p/p. Plus supplies. Light lunch included
