Label Information for Moss Collections should include:
1. The identity of the specimen (genus and species) and generally you would want to
include the author for the species (the name following a species in the flora).
2. Habitat, including as much information as possible – substrate, elevation,
vegetation type where it was found, etc.
3. Geographic location including location name, county, state, country, etc. Latitude
and longitude if known
4. Collector’s name and Collection Date
5. Determiner’s name (likely same as collector in this case), but if you have worked
with others in the determination include their names and the date of determination
6. Any notable features, such as sporophytes, brood bodies, etc.
