Peer Education & Leadership Training 2010
FCCLA members attending this dual training will be involved in hands-on
interactive activities and workshops. The opening session will include a keynote by Chip
Lutz. Again this year: Everyone will participate in a leadership/ team building session on
Sunday evening. The Peer Education/Section & Chapter Officer specific trainings will be on
Monday morning.
Peer Education
Distracted Driving will be the feature program for this year’s Peer Education
Seminar. Peer Educators will be trained with a presentation to give back in their
communities on the importance of everyone doing their part to stop distracted driving.
During the training, attendees will receive resources that will be useful in their
presentations and as they carry out the projects in their schools and communities.
The QUOTA for Peer Education is 4 members per each Adviser.
Leadership Training
This training is for Section and Chapter Officers. It will emphasize leadership skills
including team building, organization and meeting planning. The QUOTA for Leadership
Training is 6 members per each chapter.
*** Hotel Room Reservations
Hotel rooms should be secured by the teacher. Call the
Northfield Inn at 217-523-7900 and tell them you are coming to
the FCCLA Training. The room rate is $ 69.00 + 12% tax for
each room whether you have two people or four people in the
room. After making the reservation, download the housing
form and send it via fax to the hotel at 217-523-7273. If you
would like to share with another school, you may call the state
office to see who is attending. **Reservations should be made
by September 19th to guarantee you receive the FCCLA rate.

Regular Registration Fees
Student members, chapter advisers, and chaperones (cost includes facility costs,
keynote speaker fees, Sun. dinner, Mon. breakfast)……. $30.00/person The Illinois
Foundation for FCCLA contributes a large amount to help defer the cost of this event.
Without the Foundations help, the registration cost would be approximately $ 145.00 per
person. Thank you Illinois Foundation for FCCLA for helping with this event!
Regular Registration Deadline* - Friday, September 17
*This is the last date registration fees will be accepted at the regular registration rate.
Registration must be completed on-line prior to this date for regular registration fees
to apply. Registrations may be refused after this date if meeting capacities are reached.
Late Registration Fees
Student members, chapter advisers, and chaperones …. $ 50.00 per chapter/flat fee.
How to Register:
1. Regular Registration Fees – must be submitted on-line at the affiliation tab on
www.ilfccla.org. Please print a copy to send to the state office with your payment.
2.
Late Registration – Any registration submitted after the regular registration deadline will be
charged the late registration fee, so register early!
3.
Make copies of the completed form – send one copy to the address below and keep one copy for
your records. Payment for registration may either be paid in advance via mail or presented at the
registration booth on site. Please make every effort to pay in advance. Total payment will be
required even if you do not have everyone in attendance.

Receipts for payment will be available at the registration booth.

Illinois Foundation for FCCLA Activity
As in the past, we will have a silent auction to raise money for Foundation. Please bring a
$10.00 gift/chapter to donate to the auction. Tickets will be for sale for a donation of
1/$1.00 or 6/$ 5.00.
Conduct and Dress
Student Conduct Forms can be found on the website. Please print a copy of the form off and
reproduce for each student to sign. Members’ behavior at these meetings is the only image
others in the hotels, on campus and at conference centers have of our organization. Student
conduct and dress should contribute to the positive, professional image of FCCLA. Jeans, mid
drift tops, and T-shirts are NOT acceptable dress. Advisers are responsible for enforcing this
policy.
Adviser Responsibilities
Advisers are responsible for the behavior and discipline of their students throughout the
meeting. Students causing a disturbance or displaying inappropriate behavior will be asked
to leave the meeting.
Cancellation/Refunds
There will be no refunds granted for the Peer Education/Leadership Training. In the
event that a student cannot attend, please substitute another student.
CPDU Credit
Adults participating in the Peer Education/Leadership Training may receive one Certified
Professional Development Unit (CPDU). To receive this credit, you must attend the adviser’s
session that will be held.
