Sales Representative
Started as a Telephone Salesperson dealing with customers, answering queries
and taking orders. Promoted after three months to Sales Representative,
responsible for visiting an established base of c150 customers in the London area.
Making six calls per day, selling molecular biology reagents, chemicals and small
scale equipment, to technicians, PhD students and other researchers in academic
institutions and industrial laboratories. Also responsible for attending exhibitions,
and liaising with the marketing department regarding market and customer
information. Maintenance of a database using laptop computers.
Achievements:
Was the youngest person in the company’s 25 year history to be promoted
to Sales Representative
Was the first person to win an order from The Famous Co.

the Department of Analytical Chemistry. Routine sampling of water taken from
local rivers and streams. Use of various techniques: HPLC, electrophoresis,
spectrophotometry, statistical analysis.
Year 4: Specialised in the biochemistry of underwater mammals.
Project title: ‘Blood disorders in female otters’
