5. Class Rules:
You are all adults and so this section should be unnecessary –
But to avoid any misunderstandings:
a) Class will begin on time at 8:30 a.m. Please do not be late.
b) All quizzes will be given at the very start of class. Late
arrivals will not be allowed the option of taking the quiz.
c) Class attendance will be taken daily. Class lectures are very
important, a student who misses many classes will do poorly in
the class. The student is required to obtain missed class notes
from another student. Each student is allowed 2 absences. Upon
a student’s third absence their final grade will be dropped 5
Points. Upon a student’s fourth absence their final grade will
be dropped 5 points. (5 points lost for every absence after 2.)
d) Please refrain from leaving class during class time. If you
must do so please leave quietly and courteously. All cell
phones must be kept on vibrate.
e) Talking during class will be limited to material in discussion.
f) Please do not collect your belongings and slam notebooks shut
until class has actually been dismissed.
g) Cheating, plagiarism, or collusion will result in a grade of
“F” for this class. I will enforce this policy for all exams
and quizzes. For clarification see the definition of “Academic
Integrity” in the NHMCCD Catalog.
h) ADA Statement: The American Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal
anti-discrimination statute that provides civil rights protection
for persons with disabilities. If you believe you have a
disability requiring accommodation, please contact the Counseling
