State Board of Education Resolution
1.
The Alabama Industrial Development Training Institute was established as a mobile institute to
provide training to meet the employment needs of new and expanding industry.
2.
The programs of the Alabama Industrial Development Training Institute shall be supplementary
to those offered by the Department of Postsecondary Education and other public programs, and
shall be operated on a statewide basis to assist any area to become more competitive in
industrial and economic development.
3.
The budget of the Alabama Industrial Development Training Institute shall be recommended by
the Chancellor, approved by the State Board of Education, and appropriations by the Legislature
shall be transferred directly to the Alabama Industrial Development Training Institute.
4.
To assist in carrying out the responsibilities of the Alabama Industrial Development Training
Institute, the director is hereby authorized to accept grants of money, material, services, or
property from federal agencies, private agencies, corporations, or individuals upon such terms
and conditions as such federal agency, corporation, or individual may impose.
5.
The State Board of Education shall, upon the recommendation of the Chancellor, appoint a
director, establish the salary of the Director, and the Alabama Industrial Development Training
Institute shall be administratively under the Department of Postsecondary Education.
6.
Instructors employed by the Alabama Industrial Development Training Institute shall be
classified as temporary employees.
7.
Staff members of the Alabama Industrial Development Training Institute shall be under the
salary schedule as prescribed by the Department of Postsecondary Education.
