The Prayer
Of
St. Francis
Lord, Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me may bring Love.
Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord
And where there’s doubt, true faith in you.
Lord, Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there’s despair in life, let me bring
hope.
Where there is darkness, only light.
And where there’s sadness, ever joy.
Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek.
So much to be consoled, as to console.
To be understood, as to understand.
To be loved, as to love, with all my soul.
Lord, Make me a channel of your peace.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
In giving of ourselves that we receive.
And in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

cared for the final resting places of their
families and friends. In our effort to continue
this Catholic tradition, we share with you the

A parishioner is someone who is registered in the
parish and/or raised in the parish. Spouses of
parishioners are considered “parishioners” of the parish.
St. Michael Cemetery is located on the
northern edge of Charlestown. It is directly
opposite of the race track. Cross the former
railroad track and immediately turn left.
Pre-Planning Of Funerals
We encourage you to make plans for your
funeral ahead of time. This clarifies your
desires for the benefit of your family. It
enables the church to do a better job of serving
the spiritual needs of your loved ones. Contact
the pastor to make arrangements.
As The Time Of Death Approaches
In these days of privacy laws, Hospitals and
Nursing Homes are no longer permitted to
share information on the status of their clients.
You and your family need to contact the
pastor and church anytime you go into
the hospital or a nursing home. It is
important to keep the pastor and church
advised of the condition of family
members.
When possible, as the time of death
approaches, it is better to begin a dialogue with
the pastor and parish about pastoral care and
possible funeral arrangements before the
passing of your loved one.
As a minimum, contact the Parish Office
and Pastor at the same time or before
contacting the funeral home.
