A Development Squad
Aim
Prepare swimmers to qualify for the 2016 National Age Championships and step up
to Finals
Criteria

Swimmers aged 12 – 18 years (as at 1/4/15)

Swimmers must have competed in at least 1 individual event at the 2015
Australian LC Championships (MC, Age, or Open Water)

Swimmers must have competed in at least 1 individual event at the 2015 NSW
LC Championships (MC, Age, or Open Water)

Attend 2015 SISA Area LC Championships
Dates and Venue
8 & 9 August 2015 at Knox Grammar School in Sydney
The A Development Squad will be run by SNSW. Details on cost and timetable for
the weekend will be available closer to the date.

B Development Squad
Aim
Prepare swimmers to qualify for the 2016 National Age Championships
Criteria

Swimmers aged 13 – 18 years (as at 1/4/15)

Swimmers must have competed in at least 1 individual event at the 2015 NSW
LC Championships (MC, Age, or Open Water)

Technical Skills Presentation on each of the 4 strokes

Be able to swim 50M in each of the 4 strokes

Swim faster than 45 seconds for 50M freestyle

Development Squad Meet
B & C Squad
Swimmers in the SISA B & C Development Squad will be targeting the SNSW
Development Meet held at the Central Coast 19&20/9/15. Swimmers will be required
to make their own way to Wagga Wagga airport. There are no Swim Meet entry fees.
More information on this Swim Meet will be released by SNSW shortly.
Swimmers wishing to enter will need to submit entries via email to me at:

D Squad
Swimmers in the SISA D Development Squad will be targeting the SNSW
Development Meet held at SOPAC on Saturday 26/9/15. Swimmers will be required
to make their own way to Sydney and pay for their own pool entry. There are no
Swim Meet entry fees. More information on this Swim Meet will be released by
SNSW shortly.

SISA Swim Coaches
2 Day Clinic 18th & 19th July 2015
SISA Swim Coaches are invited to attend the 2 Day Clinic. This is especially
important if you have any swimmers in your Swim Club attending. There is no cost
for Swim Coaches and lunch will be provided both days.
A Coaches forum will be held Saturday after lunch. This will give all SISA Coaches
an opportunity to ask the SNSW Mentor Coach questions on the test sets as well as
any other topics. Coaches are encouraged to write down their own Training Sets they
use in the own program and bring it along to the Coaches Forum to share with other
Coaches and ask the SNSW Mentor Coach what their thoughts are.
A Coaches Dinner will be held Saturday night. The cost to coaches will be $10 per
head (not including any drinks.) This will be another opportunity for coaches to ask
more questions of the SNSW Mentor Coach.
ASCTA Professional Development Points will be available to all Coaches who attend
the 2 Day Clinic.
E Squad Development Days
Coaches are encouraged to attend these Development Days and assist with the
sessions. A number of different stroke drills will be presented and this is an
opportunity for coaches to learn more stroke drills for Juniors, District and State
Swimmers. There will be cost to coaches to attend the Development Days.
O&M Development Squads
SISA Swim Coaches are welcome to attend the O&M Development Days or the O&M
3 Day Swim Clinic. Joanne Love has put many swimmers on the Australian Team
and was an Australian Team Coach Beijing 2008. Alex Hirschauer is from Melbourne
Vicentre, 1 of Australia’s leading programs.
There is no cost to Coaches and lunch will be provided at these sessions.
