POSITION: COTTON BREEDER ASSISTANT Code KL-127
For its cotton breeding station, in Thiva Greece is recruiting a cotton breeder assistant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:





Supervision and implementation of the cotton breeding activities in Greece,
Spain, Turkey, Middle East and contribution to planning
Supervision and organization of winter nursery activities in South Africa.
Trait development cotton germplasm and parental line improvement and
creation and identification of new cotton heterotic combinations
Production of nucleus and breeder and basic seed and genetic purity of
materials upstream in the supply chain
Management of the above activities on target, time, and cost
PROFILE:




Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Agricultural Sciences with emphasis in
breeding, genetics
Extensive knowledge of cotton and experience in the crop management and
seed production. Affinity with cotton and with field work is a must
A minimum of 2 years experience in breeding. Very good knowledge of
computer applications
Strong communication skills, ability to operate in Greece, Turkey, Spain.
Regular travel is required.
