I am established Consultant General Surgeon running a Breast Unit which diagnosed and
treated 260 new breast cancers each year. I have extensive experience in breast
ultrasound, guided biopsy and breast reconstruction in addition to all the usual skills
expected of a breast surgeon.
As Postgraduate Organiser for the Prince Philip Hospital for 10 years from 1991, surgical
education supervisor and an undergraduate tutor I have extensive teaching experience.
As the current Chairman of the South West Wales Breast Cancer Network, past chairman
of the Dyfed-Powys Surgical network and Trust Lead for Cancer Services, I have a wide
experience in NHS administration.
I have a particular interest in emerging technologies, such as computing, imaging and
genetics. I regularly attend local, national and international meetings. All my clinical
activity figures are available for audit using the BASO/Canisc databases.
