Accommodations:
Accommodations are instructional tools to enable a
student to readily access learning and the curriculum.
They include a variety of strategies to help ALL
students learn and retain material. Any student may be
provided with an accommodation at any time.
These are NOT OPTIONAL if included on the
students’ IEP!

Modifications are changes made to the curriculum and
learning objectives for students. Modifications are a
significant reduction in Grade Level Benchmarks.
These are NOT OPTIONAL if included on the
students’ IEP! If modifications are made,
communication with parents is critical.
