Jeannette decides not to tell her parents about the bully, Dinitia. Dinitia see’s Jeannette
help a young boy escape from a dog and she stops bullying her and they become friends.
Grandma Erma molests Brian but Rex doesn’t believe the kids and he takes Erma’s side. The kids
wonder if Rex drinks because Erma had molested him too. Erma kicks them out of the house
because of the situation with Brian, yet they manage to buy another house. Rex tells the kids
that the new house is temporary and that it is where the Glass Castle will be built. A mentally
challenged man develops a crush on Jeannette and the other kids trick him into thinking that
she will date him.
