ACADEMIC INTEGRITY OFFICE PEER EDUCATOR POSITIONS Do you have 1 or more years left at UCSD before you graduate? If so, consider this volunteer opportunity! The Integrity & Ethics Peer is a 3-5 hour/week volunteer position. AI Peers lead small groups in Academic Integrity Seminar, create and give integrity & ethics presentations, consult with students about ethics & integrity, advise students who have been alleged with academic integrity violations, and provide education and outreach to enhance the UCSD ethics & integrity culture. To be a Peer, students should have: The ability to work both independently and within dyads and teams; Basic oral presentation and communication skills and an interest in developing these skills further; Desire to exercise leadership and create organizational change; Professional demeanor and ability to interact with diverse groups; The commitment and dedication to meet the AI Peer’s responsibilities; The availability to commit to AI Seminar at least twice in one quarter (Each seminar meets twice per quarter, either weekday evenings or Saturday mornings.) As a result of being an AI Peer, students will develop: Leadership capacity Presentation Skills Counseling and advising skills Small group facilitation skills Ethical decision-making strategies A sense of professional integrity; and, A great experience to add to grad/professional school and job applications! However, Peers are expected to adjust their schedules to fit in meetings, training sessions and Seminars (evenings and weekends), though we do our best to accommodate class schedules.
