Dauer, Prentice Hall Regents ISBN# 0-13-007253-2 Course Description: This is a low advanced pronunciation course. It is the fifth of six pronunciation courses in the P.A.L.S. program. Course Outcomes: By the end of this course you will have been trained in the following: Demonstrate pronunciation ability with a minimum of native-language interference; produce correct stress, intonation, and rhythm when using multi-syllable words in complex sentences; recognition of appropriate and inappropriate speech reductions; accent does not interfere with intelligibility. Class policies: (1) You must attend class regularly and on time in order to get a good grade. If you are late three times it will be counted as one absence. Your grade in the course may be lowered if you are absent or late too often. Except in the case of an emergency, please do not leave the classroom while the class is in session. IF YOU MUST BE ABSENT OR LATE FOR ANY REASON, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE WORK YOU MISSED AND MAKE IT UP. (2) You may not use a cell phone in the classroom.
