Isaac Kulp, 79, who has been confined to a wheel chair for the past 11 years, was found dead in his bed at about 8 a. m. Sunday at the home of his son, Manases Kulp, near Foraker. The deceased has been an invalid for 13 years since one of his legs was removed because of gangrene 13 years ago. The other leg was removed two years later. Mr. Kulp was born northwest of Wakarusa Nov. 16, 1863 the son of Joseph and Susanna Hunsberger Kulp. He and his first wife, Barbara Brubaker, lived near Mount Pleasant, Mich. until her death in 1920. His second wife, Esther Shouder, died six years ago. They lived in Brutus, Mich., all their married life, Mr. Kulp remained there until coming to the son’s home last fall. Surviving beside the son, and only child, are 7 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Samuel of Wakarusa, Thomas of Brutus and Christ of Foraker, and two sisters, Mary and Susie, both of Nappanee. Funeral services was held Wednesday. A service held at the home at 8:30 a. m. followed by another at 10 at the OldOrder Mennonite church, of which the deceased was a member. The Rev. Joseph Martin was in charge. Burial in the adjoining cemetery. 4-22-1943
