Hood River County School District Job Description – Facilities Director / Construction Project Manager Title: Facilities Director / Construction Project Manager Classification: Administrative Reports To: Business Manager Primary Functions / Statement of Job Purpose: This position is responsible for: 1. Planning and supervising maintenance services of the District to ensure that all facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems are properly functioning and operated. 2. Oversight and coordination of all construction and remodel projects to insure they are completed in a satisfactory manner, on schedule, and within budget. 3. Planning and coordinating a district-wide energy conservation program. Essential Job Functions: 1. Plans, directs, and supervises the activities of the District’s maintenance department including building and grounds maintenance, plant operations, equipment, warehousing, and delivery services. 2. Selects, trains, evaluates, and directs the work of maintenance department personnel. 3. Plans and coordinates all construction and remodel activities. 4. Assists with development of project descriptions, budgets, and schedules. Manage overall project schedule. 5. Directs and supervises the development of construction project specifications by coordinating the efforts of educators, architects, and contractors. 6. Conducts needs assessments of all District facilities on an ongoing basis and communicates with building principals for determination of current and future maintenance needs. Develops and maintains a long term maintenance plan for all District facilities. 7. Plans and coordinates a resource management and energy conservation program. Works to ensure efficient use of energy in facility operations and programs. 8. Develops and implements programs to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. 9. Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements & Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction or facilities management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Five years experience in facilities management or construction with management experience in one or all of the primary functions. Expertise in MS Excel and MS Word and/or other programs and office equipment as required by the position. Knowledge of appropriate English language usage in both written and verbal form, including use of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation. Bilingual ability in English/Spanish preferred but not required. Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing Required: Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance; District Drug Screen Clearance; Bloodborne Pathogens Training; approval for bonding.
