JOB DESCRIPTION Department: Job Title: Reports To: Benefit Level: Surgery Certified Radiology Technologist Manager, Perioperative Services III Job Code: EEO Job Family: FLSA Status: Creation/Revision Date: Technicians Non-Exempt 09/09/2014 r Role/Position Definition: Performs diagnostic medical radiographs on patients within the surgery department and completes all corresponding and appropriate documentation. Provides fluoroscopic radiology for pain, orthopedic and vascular procedures using C-arm equipment. Maintains all equipment and supplies related to the department. Qualifications/Position Requirements: A. Education/Experience Graduation from accredited program of Radiologic Technology required. Previous relevant experience preferred. B. Licensure/Certification Current licensure as a Certified Radiology Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. C. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requires proficiency in the use of general office equipment (i.e. copier, telephones). Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be proficient in computer usage. Must have knowledge of medical terminology. Must possess excellent reading and writing skills. Work Environment: Definitions: A. B. C. D. E. F. G. H. I. J. K. Chemicals Exposure – Potentially. Computer Use – Frequently. Duties & Responsibilities: A. Ensures patient safety and the highest possible quality of care as regards of radiology technology. B. Communicates practice concerns/issues to Manager. C. Participates in periodic competency evaluations (mandatory inservice programs) in accordance to institute policy. D. Promotes guest relations; treats others with care and respect while maintaining privacy, confidentiality and dignity. Maintains a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment. E. Maintains flexibility in work schedule and job functions, as work load warrants, to ensure program growth. Performs tasks/duties as assigned or requested. F. G. H. I. J. K. L. M. N. O. File, log, and mark MR# on all radiological procedures done. Check paperwork, copies, and prepares written documentation as required. Maintains adequate supplies to ensure uninterrupted patient care. Employs cost-efficient and cost-effective practices. Works in a collaborative relationship with healthcare team members and promotes interdisciplinary functions and mutual support amongst all members of the team. Performs radiographic examinations for the surgery department. Develops film including evaluating film for technical quality. Maintains X-ray, C-arm, and other equipment in efficient operating order; contacts Radiology Manager for major malfunctions/problems. Cleans equipment on a regular basis. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Performs all other duties as assigned.
