No’s.: Level: Current Grade Scp 8 Proposed Grade G03 Environment Location: Gofer, Abergele Directorate: Chief Executive Senior Waste Management Officer Responsible for: (Staff) 0 Department/ Service: Responsible to: Job Purpose Day to day supervision of staff and operations at Recycling Depot Duties and Responsibilities - Job Specific 1. Carry out day to day supervision of operations at the Recycling Depot, including allocation of staff, vehicles and plant to daily tasks. 2. Control access to site and manage the intake, bulking, baling and storage of recyclable and non-recyclable materials. 3. Arrange and co-ordinate transport of recyclable and non-recyclable materials from the Depot to reprocessing and disposal sites, ensuring that accurate records are maintained for the transfer. 4. Maintain accurate and organised records of weighbridge tickets and waste transfer notes in compliance with Controlled Waste Regulations 1992 and Environmental Protection Act 1990. 5. Responsible for the management of Health and Safety at Work, ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times and carrying out risk assessments as necessary. 6. Monitor the condition of vehicles, plant and equipment, ensuring that defects are reported in accordance with procedure, liaising with the transport section regarding vehicle servicing and availability. 7. Responsible for induction of staff to job roles and safe working practices and induction of visitors to site rules and procedures. 8. Assist the Senior Waste Management Officer and Bring Site Team Leader to coordinate services that operate from Recycling Depots including the bring site service, community skips, event recycling, cage service, clinical waste collections and any other service as required.. 9. Maintain a safe and clean working environment and ensure that all visitors to the site comply with site rules and regulation. March 2010 v3 Duties and Responsibilities - Corporate 1.
