DELE B1 (Inicial), B2 (Intermedio)
EXAMINATION
PREPARATORY COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
These preparatory courses are aimed at students who are taking the DELE exams in
May and/or students who might be thinking of sitting these exams in the future.
These preparatory courses are also open to any other students who wish to improve
their Spanish at those levels (B1, B2) even if they are not taking the exams.
Course content: These courses will focus on the practical side of the exams (format
of written papers, time management during exam, oral exam structure etc.) and on
practice with past exam-papers. Students will be encouraged to practice essaywriting skills through homework that will be corrected by the tutors.
Materials: All students joining these courses will be given access to the DELE
Preparatory Courses in AVE (Aula Virtual Español) for Inicial (B1) and Intermedio
(B2) and the tutors will bring materials pertinent for each class.
Very Important Note:
*Nivel B1 (Inicial) DELE examination is not applicable to those who have just
completed our Beginners level evening Spanish course, but for those who have
completed our Upper Intermediate Advanced level evening Spanish course at UCC
or any other courses they might have done that have covered the B1 level in the
European Framework for Languages.
**If you are unsure which DELE examination level is appropriate for you (A1, A2, B1,
B2, C1, C2), log on to http://ave.cervantes.es and do the placement test on that page.
This will automatically advise you of a level most suitable for you. However please
note this test does not take into account your oral, listening or writing skills, so if
you feel you have been placed at an unsuitable level, you should contact either one
of the following College Language Teachers for advice before you apply for the
