did it! And so Alden presents the USB Guitar Kit.
How to Use the Alden USB Guitar Kit?
The kit is composed of primarily 3 components.
1.) Alden Solo Guitar (with Low noise device)
2.) Alden Mini USB Amp.
3.) GT Player express Alden (Software)
Operations of each part are discussed accordingly in the following sections.
Alden Solo Guitar:
A low noise device is designed specially for Alden USB guitar kit and installed. This low
noise device is guarantee the high quality digital sound processing. Alden Solo Guitar is not only
the familiar analog guitar but also the nice guitar for digital sound processing with Alden USB
amplifiers.
Alden Mini USB Amp
The Alden Mini USB Amp makes the every analog electric guitar as like the digital guitar.
Since dual way audio converter (Analog-to-Digital, Digital-to-Analog) and USB board are
embedded, the USB Mini Alden is a perfect device for digital audio amplification for both Windows
and Macintosh machines. It receives an analog guitar sound and converts into digital audio data
stream, then you can play your guitar using software “GT Player Express Alden” as effect
processors in real time, record and edit you playing in your computer. Of course, it still has the
normal analog input for guitar for its specific purpose. Alden Mini USB is a really “multi-functional”
amplifier. It has a LED tuner, an audio input jack for MP3 player and headphone jack.
Alden Mini USB Operation:
1) Plug the guitar into the amplifier. Set the volume and tone controls of the guitar to
maximum level.
2) Power On the amplifier. Turn the volume and tone control knobs of the amplifier to
middle level setting.
3) Plug the provided USB cable to your computer’s USB port. Make sure that you
connect the TYPE A end of the USB cable.
4) Plug the other end (TYPE B) of the USB cable to the port provided on the Mini
USB amp. The presence of Mini USB amp will be automatically detected by the
windows operating system and the proper drivers will be installed automatically. If
you do this for the first time on a Windows XP machine, you computer will report
that Mini USB is recognized and now ready to use.
5) Open the volume control properties and choose “recording”. Choose the Alden
Mini USB on the drop down menu, then choose the “line-in” as your recording
source. Adjust the volume control. Preferably, it should be set on the middle level.
But you can adjust it according to your preference. You can also adjust the
volume control by setting the “volume” and “sum”.
6) Make sure that the “Mute” box is not ticked or selected on the volume control.
7) Exit the control for recording.
8) Open the control for output volume and make the necessary settings according to
your preference.
9) To check if the Mini USB amp is working, you can use any recording software. One
example is the Sound Recorder included in the windows operating system. Just
choose the USB guitar as your primary recording device in the Audio Setting
Properties and open the windows sound recorder. Press the red button and play
the guitar. You should see the sound waves from the guitar in the display of the
sound recorder. You should also hear the sounds from the PC being amplified thru
the Mini USB amp.
10) Now the Mini USB amp is ready. You can either play your guitar using software
effect processors or you can use the Mini USB amp as your amplified speakers to
play music or games or as audio amplifier while watching DVD on your PC
GT Player Express Alden
The effect processor software included in this package is a special edition GT player
created only for the ALDEN USB amp/guitar kit.
It is equipped with 13 different stomp’n FXs and has 128 presets slots. It is very user
friendly and all it takes is just a few clicks and it will give you the guitar effects you never imagined
you can have before.

GT Player Express Alden Operation
1) Install all the programs by launching the installers found in the CD included in the
Mini USB guitar kit. The installation is done only once. The next time you will use
the program, you can launch it easily from your desktop by double clicking its icon.
2) After successful installation of the programs, make sure that the Mini USB amp is
activated in your ASlO driver.
3) Launch the GT Player Express Alden. You can do this by either double clicking the
Dsound logo on the desktop, or by opening GT player in your program list.
4) When the GT Player is opened, click the “OPTIONS” button. Then choose
“PREFERENCES” then click the “AUDIO TAB” on the window.
5) Choose the USB Alden Mini Amp as your “OUTPUT” device. Make sure that the
Mini USB amp is selected as “Output”. After setting the Mini USB Amp as output,
click “OK” to apply your settings and return to GT player main program.
6) Choose among the preset sounds available by clicking UP or DOWN key in the top
deck of GT player or by turning the SELECTOR WHEEL beside the arrow keys.
After choosing the preset you want, click “LOAD” to activate the preset you
selected.
7) Click the POWER button located at the far left side of the GT Player top deck.
8) Set up is finished. Play your guitar. You should hear the sound with effects that
you selected. You can easily change the effect by choosing another preset and
clicking the “LOAD” button.
NOTICE:
1. The Alden Mini USB Amp needs separate power supply for analog amplification.
You can provide this by using a AC adaptor or 9V battery.
2. Do Not Attempt to use the USB Mini Amp to devices other than computers. The
USB Alden is not tested for other devices such as gaming consoles, media players
or others. Alden will not be liable to any damage or injuries resulting from these
attempts.
3. In case that the provided USB cables is lost or damaged, use only USB cables with
industry standards specifications.
4. USB port of USB Amp is for USB use only. Do not try to connect to any other
interface.
5. Alden Mini USB can be used as independent amplifier with 5 mode effects and
normal guitar input jack.
