Field Instrumentation Inside Sales

NATURE AND SCOPE
Primary inside focal point for Field Instrumentation products and services providing
excellent technical/commercial assistance and customer service to Caltrol’s customers.
Gathers information, prepares quotations, enters and expedites orders and follows up
proactively with customers.
This position excels at all duties and requirements of the Level I position and
additionally receives mentoring and training for internal procedures, vendor products,
and pricing guidelines from assigned Level III Inside Sales Engineer and/or Manager
Inside Sales.
Assists Level III Inside Sales Engineer in the work process review and supervision of
Level I Inside Sales Engineers.
Ensures proper preparation and submittal of customer documentation requirements.
Consistently maintains technical competence with all aspects of Caltrol, Inc.’s business
systems relating to the processing of customer orders. Continuously improves
knowledge of Field Instrumentation product and services offered by Caltrol.
PRIMARY DUTIES

Interacts with customers, principals and vendors via telephone, FAX, e-mail and
occasionally face to face, to ensure that the customer as well as Caltrol
requirements are met.

Serves as primary inside focal point for Field Instrumentation products and
services, providing technical and commercial assistance to customers.

Makes appointments for outside Product Specialists when appropriate,
exercising good judgment to effectively utilize their time.

Troubleshoots product issues on the phone escalating calls to an internal or
external resource when required for resolution.

Prepares or supervises preparation of Field Instrumentation quotations.

Follows ups on open quotations, assisting sales team in closing orders.

Utilizes phone selling skills to prospect for new business and close orders.

Maintains:
o a good working relationships with factory personnel, seeking their
expertise and assistance when appropriate.
o a good working relationships with Product Specialists, Account Managers,
Sales Associates and other team members to maximize sales
opportunities.

Understands:
o Customer applications and requirements in order to provide effective
solutions using Field Instrumentation Products and Services
o Customers special processing or documentation requirements
o Caltrol competition sufficiently to specify alternatives using Field
Instrumentation products and services offered by Caltrol
o Factory manufacturing processes and appropriate Industry Standard.

Visits customer sites, when required, and participates in sales presentations,
utilizing demos, PowerPoint and other presentation tools.

Assists with training and guidance to others when called upon. Shares
knowledge and mentors less experienced inside sales personnel.

Actively participates with team members to achieve revenue, gross profit and
QMS quality goals.

Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
1. 3 - 5 years of experience in a sales position for process control equipment and/or
demonstration of general technical sales competency. Good working knowledge
of process control and process applications.

customer deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

College degree or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge of Caltrol Field Instrumentation products and services.

Proficient with Microsoft software applications.

Background in Field Instrumentation sales or applications preferred.

In-depth knowledge of J.D. Edwards OneWorld business system.

Knowledge of computer based engineering software
