Title: Sr. Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Location: Knoxville, TN Duration: Direct Hire Job Reference Code: NRM-4 National Resource Management LLC, an Engineering and Construction company is seeking a Sr. E,I&C (Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls) Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity at an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company, located in Knoxville, TN. Purpose: Provide Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Design, technical analysis and resolution of engineering problems Provide direction and coordination of junior engineers and designers to successfully complete design and implementation of large industrial projects in Chemical Process, Power, and Petro-Chemical Industries Essential Skills (May include but are not limited to the ability to): Serve as the Lead Electrical, I&C Engineer on large scale projects Work with Process Engineering during P&ID development to establish the most effective control strategies Evaluate the I&C requirements and philosophy to establish the best type of control system for the project Prepare Hardware and Software specifications for the control system. Design, size, and specify (i.e. project specifications and datasheets) instruments and control equipment/systems to indicate, measure and control specific aspects of a production process and operating plant Establish design criteria, prepare procurement specifications, evaluate bids, and manage contracts for E, I&C equipment Conceptualize plans, details and sections to accurately convey construction or fabrication requirements Check and back check documents and drawings produced by other engineers and drafting personnel Check vendor supplied drawings and/or information and coordinate transfer into project drawings Checkout vendor provided equipment at vendor site and/or jobsite and field precommissioning and start-up support Work within company policy as outlined in the Lauren Engineers & Constructors Craft Handbook and in compliment with the client’s Human Resources Policy Manual, Safety Manual, and OSHA Safety Rules Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed Essential Qualifications: Knowledge and Application of all instrumentation related standards, codes, and regulations; working knowledge of DCS, PLC and SCADA/HMI control system software, hardware and architecture; working knowledge of databases; working knowledge of SmarPlant Instrumentation software tools is desirable Must possess superior engineering skills and be capable of interacting with all engineering disciplines Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with all engineering disciplines, construction project managers, vendors, and clients Must have a proven track record of accomplishment as a lead design engineer on large scale chemical or power projects and be capable of directing a team of engineers, designers, and support personnel Must be able to travel Ethical, dependable, results oriented, self-driven, hands-on 15+ years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial E, I&C engineering design in and engineering office Prior experience in I&C system checkout and commissioning B.S. Degree (or higher) in Electrical, Control Systems, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET – accredited engineering college or university Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) by exam, in state of residence Hands-on field experience with instruments and control systems Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions Work Hours: Monday – Thursday (7:30 – 5:30); Friday (8:00 – 12:00) Work Environment: Work usually takes place in clean, pleasant, and comfortable office settings although some travel is required NRM, LLC is strategically focused on providing high quality and competitive engineering, construction, staffing, and project support services to government and commercial clients (www.nrm-llc.com).
