to develop a novel combined optical and thermal imaging system and associated analysis software,
that will dramatically raise the quality and speed of structural monitoring within hard to reach
environments.
The project is aimed at creating cutting edge industrial systems, based on state-of-the-art image
processing methods, including image registration, stitching and fusion, combined with fast
implementation methods. Combined with this, we expect to generate high quality research
publications from the work. The post includes a generous budget for training, travel, conference
attendance and equipment.
The KTP associate will be an employee of Glasgow Caledonian University but will be based at the

The role of the person undertaking the project is to:
 Undertake the work plan as defined in the KTP proposal and as agreed by the Local
Management Committee.
 Develop an image acquisition system, combining multiple optical and thermal imaging
cameras, and an appropriate housing system.
 Undertake the development image processing algorithms for image fusion, change detection,
image stitching, structure from motion etc.
 Design, implement and test the above algorithms in low level software (C/C++).
 Field trial the developed system and full test the developed software.
 Develop suitable system documentation.
