We hope you are looking forward to our annual showcase. All the teachers and dancers have been working hard to prepare for this exciting recital. April Newsletter Please make sure that you have a copy of the April Newsletter that went out last month. It has all the important recital information. If your child wishes to see ANY part of the show, they will also need a ticket. Victoria Day The studio will be closed for regular scheduled class May 21. C.B. Summer Camp Session 1- July 9-13 Session 2-July 23-27. Do not miss out on our great summer camps. Hip hop, Musical theatre, Jazz as well as several outdoor activities- movies, bowling, swimming and fun crafts. Flyers have been put in all mailboxes. Showcase Rehearsal Dates & times All students participating in the recital must attend both rehearsals May 22 & 25 Family and friends are not permitted to watch rehearsals – No costumes necessary. Location – C.B.Dance Academy. Please arrive ½ hour prior Matinee performers – 5:00-7:00 Evening performance 6:30-7:15 Rehearsal #1 May 22nd May 25th – Dress Rehearsal – hair and makeup not necessary Location – City Playhouse theatre. Please arrive ½ hour prior Solo showcase – 3-4:00 Friday evening performance – Act 2 4:00- 5:30 Matinee performance 5-6:30 Friday evening performance – Act 1- 6-7:30 Rehearsal #2 All recreational dances are to wear their costumes to this rehearsal. With regards to competitive routines, each dancer will be assigned to bring a specific costume for lighting purposes. Costumes not needed for all other members. Please arrive at rehearsal 30 min. early. Parents may wait for their children in the assigned waiting area. Parents and friends are not permitted to watch rehearsal. If your child is in more then one dance it is a good idea to bring some activities (game, puzzles coloring books etc). Also, water and a snack is suggested. No pop or juice in change rooms with costumes. No peanut products please. Recital Dates & Times Saturday May 26th – Matinee Showcase starts 12:00 p.m. Performers should arrive by 11:15. Saturday May 26th – Solo showcase starts 4:15 p.m. Performers in this show should arrive by 4:45. Please do not arrive early. We do not have access to the theatre prior to 3:45 The soloist showcase is open to the public. We encourage and welcome all of you to come to our soloist showcase at 4:15 on Sat. If you have already purchased a ticket for the Sat. evening performance, there is no additional cost. Saturday May 26th -- Evening Showcase starts 6:00p.m. Performers in Act. 1 should arrive by 5:15 Performers in Act 2 should arrive by 6:15pm Costume Costumes will be given out to the dancers in class the week before picture day. If you have any problems with your costume please see the office. Deadline for costume cancellation has past. If you have not already notified the office that your child will not be performing in the Showcase, a costume has been ordered for your child and will be billed to your account. ALL COSTUME DEPOSITS ARE NON REUNDABLE, NON TRANSFERABLE. Recital Pick up and Drop off Safety is our priority so all parents must be patient when dropping off and picking up your child. Please arrive to the theatre with your child’s hair and makeup already completed. You must sign your child in .Matinee Performance – No Intermission. Parents can pick up their children at the end of the show. Parents must wait until all dancers are back with their volunteers before they are picked up. Evening performance – If dancer is performing only in act 1 dancer must be picked up by parent during intermission Recital DVD Video taping or flash photography is not permitted in the theatre. Recital DVD’s can be purchased for $45.00 + tx. Please fill out the form attached and submit to the studio office. Video will be ready for pick up in the summer. Once delivered to the studio, you will be notified for pick up. Company Photo Day- May 8/12 Location: West Photo 120 Newkirk Rd. (Newkirk & Crosby) Richmond Hill Parents, All students are to arrive to the photo studio 30 min. prior to posted time with hair and make up done. Listed below are the times the photos are to be taken. Please do not arrive at this time. Please do not be late. However we still need more volunteers in each change room to chaperone and assist in costume changes. In order for the rehearsal and recitals to run smoothly we ask C.B. parents to sign up for one of the three performances. All female change rooms will be assigned a parent volunteers.
