Boardmaker Version 5 Copying a new symbol from a button 1. Create a new symbol/button on your Boardmaker page. This is done by combining parts of other symbols, or copying digital pictures onto a button. 2. Select all of the graphics on the button (hold the shift key to select multiple graphics (do not select the label/name). 3. Select “Copy” from the “Edit” menu at the top 4. Open the Symbol Finder Tool. 5. Select “Paste” from the “Edit” menu at the top of the Boardmaker window (same place you found “copy”). A window will pop up that allows you to Add A Name (2 Slice Special). Type the name in the text box under the “Add a name” button. 6. Assign it to a category (or more than one). When you assign a category, you can choose “Show my own categories” and place it there. You can rename these customized categories by checking the “unlock category names”. 7. Now that symbol, with that name will always be there! Assistive Technology Kent ISD 9/2006
