2. Marine management experiences
ITMEMS 5 will engage planners, managers and field practitioners involved in the ecosystembased management and conservation of tropical marine ecosystems. Please describe your
involvement in the management of tropical marine ecosystems (e.g. are you involved in
planning and implementation of marine management initiatives, are you involved in policymaking related to marine management, do you work at a MPA site, do you manage a natural
resource management project, do you provide technical support to staff in the field etc.?)

3. Symposium content and relevance
ITMEMS 5 is organized with an overall theme of ecosystem-based management. The following
topics will be covered through thematic sessions. (A more detailed description of the sessions will
be uploaded to the ITMEMS 5 webpage by Dec 11. Please use the descriptions to fill out the
following.) Please highlight why you are interested in sharing practical experiences and/or
receiving training and information on these topics, and describe why and how this is

exercises and peer-to-peer exchanges. In the context of the session themes, is there a specific
