Objectives of Nature of the Course:
The main objectives of this course are to introduce the basic issues of
International Trade in Wood and Wood Products. For each of the fundamental
elements, description, and future perspectives will be the main discussion issues in the
lecture. More specifically, core elements like International economics, Trade policy of
exporting/importing countries, Comparative advantage and mutually beneficial trade,
Practice of forest products trade and Multilateral trade negotiations: GATT and
WTO...etc., will be focused. In addition, for students, since Mainland China has
become a great competitor in the Forest Products trade, special attention will also be
given to this area. The lecturers of this course hope, after learning the
above-mentioned issues, all students would first, have a clearer picture of
International Trade in Wood and Wood Products, and second, create more ideas for
his/her own Career planning, future business, and/or International Trade research.
Teaching Materials:
The teaching materials will be offered by each lecturer.
Course Requirements:

20 % Mid-term exam (Homework of international trade)
