Everett, WA — Village Theatre KIDSTAGE SummerStock is proud to bring to stage all the wonder of
Disney in its unique production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature about an uncivil beast (played by recent high school graduate Ryan Wuflestad) and the beautiful Belle (played Emily Swanby, 11 th grade) who can help him learn to love and so regain his humanity, the stage version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast includes all of the timeless songs from the film, written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman,
(the team responsible for Little Shop of Horrors ), plus new songs written especially for the Broadway version by Menken and Tim Rice ( Aladdin , Aida ).
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will be performed by a cast of 45 local young performers in grades 5-12.

Village Theatre KIDSTAGE SummerStock is an annual summer program in which students perform a full-scale musical on Village Theatre’s mainstage. Performers are selected through a rigorous audition process. The musical is fully directed and designed by theatre professionals and features a live, mostly student orchestra.

Designed to encourage teamwork, personal integrity, self-esteem and a life-long appreciation for live theatre,
KIDSTAGE is a year-round performing arts training program in Issaquah, Everett and Stanwood for young people ages 3-20.
KIDSTAGE students participate in classes, workshops and full-scale KIDSTAGE productions. All performances are by
