EMPLOYMENT HISTORY Imerys Minerals Ltd Geologist - November 2010 – Present Currently an integral part of a small team of geologists working on the assessment of resources, pit design and mine planning within the UK Kaolin operations. Responsible for the geological model development and resource evaluation of current Imerys Kaolin deposits as well as five newly acquired deposits from a recent merger with Goonvean China Clay. Geological modelling and design using Geovia Surpac software involving high resolution geological modelling, geochemical analysis, geostatistical and variographical analysis/validation and block model development. Geological mapping of both operational and non-operational sites. Acting lead Geologist managing a major 2,000m drill campaign with the objective of defining the kaolin resource in newly acquired deposits. Responsible for the positioning of drill holes, geological logging of recovered cores and sample preparation for laboratory analysis. Data validation of historical drill databases and database managment. Geochemical analysis of kaolinite mineralogy - investigating effects of drilling and laboratory processing, including analysis using XRF, XRD and SEM. Horizonte Minerals Project Geologist – January - July 2010 Six month contract work as part of a small team in a joint venture, grassroots exploration programme with AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. The project focussed on determining new target areas in alkali intrusive related mineralised systems. Exploration was carried out in Rio Grande du Sol, Southern Brazil and primarily involved sampling large areas via rock and stream sediment sampling in order to identify anomalies. Main responsibilities included managing a small team of four in sample acquisition, working with MapInfo software to determine sample sites and plot river catchment areas, providing detailed geological maps of areas with anomalous mineral concentrations and analysing the geochemical data. British Geological Survey July-September 2009 Fieldwork around the Snowdon volcanic centre within Snowdonia, Wales. Involved detailed geological mapping, sample collection, geochemical analysis, geophysical resistivity surveying and the analysis of different vein generations. The work was carried out in order to assist the BGS in its continuing research on the area.
