After speaking with your teachers, I realized that you study Ancient Rome in the
sixth grade and would appreciate seeing photographs from my recent trip!
Things I noticed during my trip to Rome:
 Great engineers!
 Architecture
 Formal “peristyle” gardens
 Structures, maybe of concrete or wood
 Worked without electrical power…wonder “How did they do all this?”
 Arches in many of their structures
o Many bridges
o Memorials
o Windows and entryways



Romans roads
Domes
Aqueducts: waterworks
o Baths, fountains, and entire water supply
Any other items of interest and personal reflection.
These are just a few of the ideas you could incorporate into your courtyard plans.
