Learners will need enthusiasm and a keen interest in learning how to paint birds. Any skills or qualifications needed for entry into the class None required Course, including aims This course is designed to be an introduction to the skills surrounding acrylic painting and wildlife art. The tasks will start basic, but are easily adaptable for students with previous painting experience. The desired outcome is for each student to complete a painting of a bird – and have the confidence and techniques to complete one alone in the future. Aims Exploring how to use acrylic paint Building confidence in selecting effective compositions and colour application. Learning how to accurately paint birds Learning how to use different brushes to paint feathers, eyes and beaks. Materials required for first class Acrylic paint set – brands such as Galeria, System 3, Reeves, Medium sized canvas – around 30x40 cm in size Pencil Ruler Medium-sized short flat brush (soft bristles) Selection of small round brushes (watercolour brushes) If you want to choose what you paint, please email your chosen image to Imi ahead of the first class. Please only choose large images (Google – search tools – size – large). Imi will also bring along a selection of photographs to the first class.
