Data Driven Decision Making Action Plan (Draft) Program/Department/Committee: Chair: Dr. Dennis Buckwalter Date: 4/19/2011 Assessments Examined: The assessments that were examined were assessments 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and also 7. Assessment 8 is the PDE 430 form provided by the State, which cannot be modified. Summary of Data Analysis: Content Specific competencies form: It is divided into the 15 core standards of NCTM and is used for assessments 3,4, and 5 to cover planning, performance, and student impact. The problem is the content specific competency form does not the specific sub standards of the NCTM standards. Assessment 2: Course grades, Content area: Alignment of the courses to specific indicators for the core content standards, not the sub standards. Assessment 8: We discussed PDE 430, and how to supplement the data. Assessment 6: Discussed possibilities to break down rubrics to gain further data. Proposed Action: 1. We would modify the content specific competency form to address all the sub standards. (Include dropdowns to the right of standards on LiveText) Alignment adjusted to account for all sub standards, when aligned with content 2. Meet with math department to alignment the courses to specific indicators for the core content standards, not the sub standards. 3. For assessment 6, data from the last two semesters needs to be included. 4. For PDE 430, it was determined this can not be altered into further categories to show alignment to specific indicators, but will be used in conjunction with data from content specific competencies form. 5. Participation in webinar with NCATE mathematics May 3rd, 2011. Relevance to Conceptual Framework: The 8 performance based assessments used for the SPA are collected during transitions 2, 3, and 4. The 8 performance based assessments collect data which support the ten belief statements in the conceptional framework. Desired Outcomes: Successful submission and review of the Response to Conditions report. Standards Addressed: 16 Core Standards and 82sub standards (indicators) of NCTM Criteria for Success: Pass with no conditions Time Table: March 15, 2012 Person(s) Responsible for Data Collection and Analyses: Assessment 2: Dr. Dennis Buckwalter in consultation with Mathematics department. Assessment 3, 4, 5, 6: Department Faculty, Analysis by Dr. Dennis Buckwalter
