Jeffco Public Schools Facility Use Guidelines In order to provide a clean, healthy and safe environment, all areas utilized by Day Care providers will be maintained in accordance with the Custodial Specifications and the DAC guidelines as follows: Frequency of Service: Elementary sites - Four out of five day service* Secondary sites – Every other day service* *Restrooms, clinics, locker rooms, cafeteria, are exempt from the deferred area cleaning. These areas must be cleaned on a daily basis. The following specifications are provided as a guide to determine the minimum cleaning standards expected by Custodial Services. Restrooms, Clinics and Locker Rooms A. Daily 1. Clean with disinfectant solution a. Urinals and fittings b. Toilet bowls, fittings and seats c. Drinking fountains d. Partitions, walls and ceilings e. Dispensers f. Clinic cots 2. Fill receptacles: towels, soap and toilet paper 3. Secure windows 4. Wet mop floors with disinfectant solution 5. Dispose of trash 6. Regular floor maintenance 7. Clean mirrors, door push plates and knobs 8. Change sanitary receptacles liners 9. Replace lights as needed 10. Identify repairs B. Weekly 1. Dust horizontal surfaces 2. Clean soap dishes 3. Wash trash cans as needed Classroom/Office Cleaning A. Daily 1. Dust mop or vacuum floor 2. Empty pencil sharpeners 3. Empty wastebaskets 4. Adjust shades or drapes 5. Secure windows 6. Clean entry glass 7. Spot clean carpet 8. Fill dispensers 9. Wash sink and fittings 10. Replace lights as needed 11. Identify repairs B. Weekly 1. Dust horizontal surfaces 2. Wash fingerprints 3. Wash glass doors and frames 4. Clean chalkboards, whiteboards 5. Wash trash cans as needed Auditorium, Stage and Gym A. Daily 1. Dust mop or vacuum floors 2. Adjust shades and /or drapes 3. Spot mop 4. Replace lights as needed 5. Identify repairs B. Weekly 1. Dust horizontal surfaces 2. Wash doors and frames 3. Wash door glass 4. Run floor machine as needed 5. Regular floor maintenance Cafeteria A. Daily 1. Dispose of trash 2. Dust mop floor, vacuum carpet and mats 3. Wet mop floor with disinfectant solution 4. Secure windows 5. Set shades and/or drapes 6. Clean drinking fountains 7. Spot clean walls, doors and frames 8. 9. 10. 11. Wash all trash cans Wash windows and sills as needed Replace lights as needed Identify repairs Snow removal will be provided at all times to insure the safety of participant. Sites are expected to provide supplies for sanitary purposes only (i.e. paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, trash bags, etc.) Each site receives a supplement in their Custodial supply budget to offset these costs. If you have a question on supplies please contact your Field Coordinator. Some providers may require a broom or mop to maintain their area through out the day. Please make sure they have access to these items.
