AMBASSADE DE FRANCE EN JAMAIQUE ET AUPRES DU COMMONWEALTH DES BAHAMAS VISITOR’S VISA FOR FRANCE, BELGIUM, HUNGARY, NORWAY, THE NETHERLANDS Information for Jamaican citizens currently residing in Jamaica and foreigners with a valid work/resident permit, visiting family or friends. The Visa Section is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 11.30 am. Applicants are requested to present themselves IN PERSON at the Embassy of France in Kingston. The file MUST contain all the documents indicated and CERTIFIED TRANSLATIONS into French or English MUST be provided along with copies of the originals written in Dutch, Norwegian, Hungarian or any other Foreign Language. Where the file contains a copy of a document, you may be required to present its original upon your arrival to the Embassy. The visa application MUST be signed personally by the applicant. Presentation of a complete application file does not necessarily mean that the visa will be granted. The visa process can take from 3 working days up to several weeks in certain cases. Therefore you may submit your visa application up to three months prior to your intended travel date. REQUIREMENTS: 1. One fully completed Schengen application form. Application forms are free of charge. 2. Passport must be valid for at least six months longer than intended stay in the Schengen territory. Passport must have at least 2 consecutive empty pages available. Please also submit previous passports, either valid or cancelled. 3. Flight itinerary for the entire outward and return journey (only documentary evidence of the reservation is required; confirmed bookings do not guarantee a visa!). 4. Job letter from your employer in Jamaica stating occupation, date of employment, income, purpose of travel OR, if you are self-employed, the registration certificate of your business (certificate of incorporation, articles of memorandum etc.) OR any other proof of socio-professional status ( evidence of pension etc.) If student, status letter from school or university. 5. Documentary evidence of the situation of your host: job letter, certificate of school or university attendance, pension book, evidence of retirement pension or pension de reversion (survivor’s pension), etc… 6. Bank statement of person covering expenses of trip. For Norway: your bank statement AND that of your host. 7. Documentary evidence of accommodation : In France: certificate of boarding and lodging “Attestation d’accueil”, issued by local city hall In Belgium: Formal Obligation / Engagement de Prise en Charge / “Verplichttungserklarung” issued by local city hall In Norway: Gurantee Form for visits “Garantiskjema for besok” issued by the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration In the Netherlands: Formal Obligation “Garantverklaring” 8. Signed invitation from host AND copy of passport of host 9. 1 recent photograph (size 30 x 40mm), colour 10. Visa application fee: equivalent of 60.00 Euros is non refundable and must be paid cash in JMD on day of interview. 11. Overseas health insurance for medical, emergency and repatriation expenses (coverage: 30 000 Euros or equivalent). 12. For couples (when both persons are travelling together): marriage certificate and bank statement for the accompanying person. 13. For minors, please include: birth certificate and parental authorization stamped by a JP of non accompanying parent(s) as they appear on the birth certificate. Additional documents may, when appropriate, be required!
