NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The City of Camdenton Fire Department is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of Personal
Protective Equipment: six (6) sets of firefighter turnout / bunker gear and six (6) pairs of leather
firefighting boots.
Sealed bids will be accepted until 1:00 PM, Friday, September 12, 2014. Bids must be
delivered to the City of Camdenton, 437 West US Highway 54, Camdenton, Missouri, 65020
and marked “FIRE PPE” on the outside of the sealed envelope. Complete bid specifications

The City of Camdenton Fire Department is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of Personal
Protective Equipment: six (6) sets of firefighter turnout / bunker gear (coat & pants with
suspenders) and six (6) pairs of leather firefighting boots.
This specification describes the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn by members of the
Camdenton Fire Department. In addition to meeting these specifications, all proposed clothing
MUST meet the requirements of NFPA1971, most current edition.
The successful bidder shall measure the members of the Camdenton Fire Department at the
Camdenton Fire station (35 College Avenue, Camdenton, MO 65020). The measurements shall
be taken using sizing samples. Because of this, the successful bidder shall be responsible for all
sizing. There shall be no additional charges for any PPE returned for improper sizing.

1” x 3” microphone tab made of three (3) layers of outer shell material above radio
pocket on left chest.

2” x 3” American Flag to be sewn on right upper sleeve. The stars shall be in the upper
right corner.
Lime/Yellow Scotchlite Lettering in size and locations as follows:
a. <CAMDENTON> in 3” letters, sewn on, 2” above HEM Trim
b. <Firefighter’s Last Name> in 3” letters, sewn on, to a lettering patch made of
outer shell material. The lettering patch shall be sewn directly to the coat, above
the chest trim.
Hanger loop on exterior of coat.

Pattern to be:
a. One stripe around each lower pant leg at the ankle
b. One stripe sewn horizontally directly below the waist
c. One stripe sewn vertically extending from the waist to the hem, centered at
outside seam
“H”-style, adjustable suspenders with padding and metal loops (not button) attachment
points.
Scotchlite trim on suspenders.
Leather firefighting boot: Cosmas® Titan or acceptable equal
14” high, black, pull-on (Low profile, 1” wide, triple-stitch reinforced pull straps), all leather (fullgrain, water, flame, chemical, and cut resistant leather) bunker style firefighting boots with
combination midsole/ladder shank/puncture resistant device to provide full puncture resistance
coverage and thermal insulation for the bottom of the foot. Achilles flex point, contoured ankle
guards, tibia guard and micro fiber suede heel slide.
Corrosion resistant anatomically shaped steel safety toe with abrasion, chemical and flame
resistant nitrile rubber protective toecap.
Boots must meet or exceed NFPA 1971, Standard on Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire
Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting, 2013 Edition, as well as NFPA 1992, Standard on Liquid
Splash-Protective Ensembles and Clothing for Hazardous Materials Emergencies and the CSA
Z195-09 standard for protective footwear. Interior label containing all information as required by
